“Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage through the Strengthening of National Capacities in Bangladesh”
Time frame: December 2017 to February 2018
OBJECTIVE: 
The activity aims to assist Bangladesh authority to undertake a primary (field-based) and secondary (desk study) study for upcoming pilot ICH inventorying activity involving local communities and practitioners on a selected number of intangible cultural heritage elements. The pilot inventorying shall focus on the geographical area of Sylhet in Manipuri community. 

To create a  methodology with which relevant community leaders, community stakeholders, and  government institutions can carry out the inventory on a national level by training communities to identify ICH elements and carry out inventorying.

Main purpose:
The main purposes of the Convention are to
  1. safeguard such heritage, to ensure respect for it
  2. to raise awareness about its importance and 
  3. to provide for international cooperation and assistance in these fields
  4. List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding
  5. the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity
